IFSU Holds Investiture Ceremony for 2nd University President


Dr. Eva Marie Codamon-Dugyon was formally installed as the University President of Ifugao State University (IFSU) for the second term. Presided over by Dr. Marita R. Canapi, Commissioner of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), who also serves as the Chairperson of the IFSU Board of Regents, the investiture ceremony was held at the Luis Hora Gymnasium on September 7, 2023.

During the ceremony, Dr. Dugyon was vested with the regalia and symbols emblematic of the University Presidency.

The event was attended by Dr. Dugyon’s immediate family, members of the Board of Regents, University Presidents from State Universities and Colleges in the Cordillera Administrative Region, as well as Presidents from the Romblon State University, Saint Mary University, Isabela State University, Quirino State University, Nueva Vizcaya State University, and esteemed guests including Ifugao Provincial Governor Jerry U. Dalipog, local officials, representatives from line agencies, Dr. Dugyon’s friends and former teachers, and visitors.

The investiture also gathered IFSU personnel from its six campuses and members of nearby communities.

In her address, the University President expressed her gratitude to those who have played pivotal roles in her personal and professional journey, shaping her experiences and providing opportunities for growth.

“I stand before you today with a heart full of gratitude and thankfulness. It is both an honor and a privilege to assume the role of the Second University President and the First Woman University President of IFSU,” she remarked.

Dr. Dugyon is the second University President of IFSU and the first woman to hold this esteemed position in the institution's 103-year history. She pursued a degree in Journalism at the Lyceum of the Philippines University. She furthered her studies with a Master of Arts in Language program and a Doctor of Philosophy, both pursued as a scholar. Moreover, she completed the Philippine Higher Education Career System (Phil-HECS) Training, an integral part of the Executive Development Program by CHED in collaboration with the Development Academy of the Philippines.

Before assuming the role of University President, Dr. Dugyon served in various capacities including Director of the Department of Extension and Training, Public Assistance and Information Services, and the Management Information System Office at different junctures.
