Univ Administrative Services Dep’t Holds Orientation to Enhance Efficiency


In a bid to enhance efficiency and streamline operations, representatives from various offices and colleges participated in an orientation program organized by the Department of Administrative Services (DAS) held on September 15, 2023 at the Multipurpose Hall, Admin building. The orientation aimed to familiarize employees with the essential processes, procedures, and functions of different units within the department.

The orientation brought together staff members from across the university to learn about the processes of DAS, which plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth functioning of various administrative aspects of the institution.

Dr. Jamaica G. Bumidang, Director of DAS, opened the orientation with gratitude for the active participation of the attendees. She emphasized the importance of such initiatives in aligning the entire University community with the goals and functions of the department.

The orientation covered key units within DAS, including the procurement section, supply section, records section, and University clinic. Each section was presented by an expert in their respective fields, providing valuable insights into their roles and responsibilities.

Mr. Leslie F. Dimog, Head of the Procurement Section, delved into the processes of procurement processes, shedding light on the importance of efficiency and transparency in sourcing goods and services for the University. His presentation emphasized the need for meticulous record-keeping and adherence to procurement regulations.

Moreover, Mr. Alfred Leslie Charles Dait Jr. discussed the functions and processes of the Supply Section. He emphasized the vital role this section plays in ensuring that the University has access to essential resources for its daily operations.

Ms. Sol S. Codamom elaborated on the Records Section's processes, emphasizing the significance of maintaining organized and secure records for the University. Proper record-keeping, she explained, not only enhances operational efficiency but also ensures compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Dr. Johnny Ryman Salman, the University Physician, provided insights into the services offered by the university clinic. His presentation highlighted the critical role that healthcare services play in promoting the well-being of students, faculty, and staff, and how the clinic contributes to a healthy and productive University environment.

Dr. Freddie B. Caday, Vice President for Administration, in his closing remarks, emphasized the vital role of administrative personnel within the university, describing them as the backbone of the institution. "Without the dedication and expertise of our administrative staff, the University simply would not function. Their efforts ensure that all aspects of the University run smoothly," Dr. Caday noted.
