IFSU conducts blood typing and blood-letting tp promote health awareness and ensure safe blood supply
Ifugao State University (IFSU)-Lamut Campus through the University Clinic held a blood typing and blood-letting activity on November 17, 2023, in collaboration with the Rural Health Unit-Lamut and Region 2 Trauma & Medical Center (R2TMC). The event aimed to promote health awareness and ensure an ample supply of safe blood for the community.
A total of 74 individuals, including employees, students, and community members, participated in the blood typing activity. Of these, 62 were eligible to donate blood. The blood-letting drive was conducted in accordance with Republic Act No. 7719, also known as the National Blood Services Act of 1994, which aims to ensure the effective regulation and availability of safe blood in the country’s blood banks.
Blood typing is essential to determine blood compatibility and prevent the risks associated with receiving an incompatible blood transfusion.
