IFSU studes to join International Business Idea Contest


Two (2) teams comprising of six (6) IFSU students taking up Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) at IFSU Lamut and Potia Campuses have signed up to take part in the competition to pitch business ideas on September 3, 2021.

Participated by ten (10) universities in India, Nepal, Sri Lanka and the Philippines, the said competition aims to provide a meaningful experience for students who are interested in pursuing an entrepreneurial opportunity at some point in their careers. This is in line with the project INNOTAL and its objective of helping improve graduates' employability by enhancing their entrepreneurial skills.

The themes for the competition include Environment and Energy, e-Mobility, Health Care, FinTech, Food and Agriculture, and Edtech. The business ideas will be evaluated by international experts from INNOTAL EU partners and participating universities. The top three ideas will get the winner’s certificate while participants of the competition will receive a certificate of participation.

Team 1 is composed of BSIT students from IFSU Lamut Campus, namely: John Dave Garcia, Mevia Baludda, Claire Bunnag and Michael Conrad M. Tamargo. On the other hand, Marie Cris R. Buenaflor, Dannica R. Dela Cruz, Cristine Joy C. Manzano and Jolas L. Ganotice, BSIT students from IFSU Potia Campus will represent Team 2.
