IFSU-COE, Panopdopan BLGU launch Community Learning Center


The College of Education of the Ifugao State University-Lamut Campus and the Barangay Local Government Unit of Panopdopan, Lamut launched the Community Learning Center in Panopdopan, Lamut, Ifugao on May 21, 2021.

The two parties also signed a Memorandum of Understanding through the University President Dr. Eva Marie Codamon-Dugyon and Barangay Chairperson Robin L. Taguiling.

Moreover, the College turned over learning materials and indoor game materials, and a unit of 50 inch-flatscreen TV installed with learning activities in the different subject areas prepared by the COE faculty. Kid books will also be donated by Vice Mayor Victomar Bunnol and his family to the learning center.

In a short program, Bunnol expressed his gratitude for the extension program of the IFSU. He also assured the full support of Lamut LGU to the project and community as a whole. Bunnol also encouraged the teachers and parents to take the lead in maximizing the use of the community learning center.

Meanwhile, Dr. Vivian D. Dumelod, Dean of the COE, thanked the community for the fruitful partnership and shared the IFSU’s hope in helping learners and teachers in this time of the pandemic.

Kerajie Ryne D. Bimmulog, the Sangguniang Kabataan Chairperson, also expressed her gratitude for the project and manifested her commitment to faithfully carry out her functions as stipulated in the MOU.

“This will help much the learners in the barangay especially those who do not have cellphones for their online classes. They can just come to the center & use the TV. Also, the center functions as an abode for all youths in their homeschooling with the technical assistance of teachers of the two learning institutions in the barangay,” she said.
