Freshies, transferees imbued with right attitudes

To fuel freshmen and transferees to build quality anchors and encourage students to imbibe the right behaviors throughout their academic journey, the Department of Student Services and Development (DSSD) conducted a Self-awareness and Values formation seminar on September 7, 2022, at the open gymnasium.

Lamut Campus Executive Director Nathaniel F. Dimog, delightedly welcomed a crowd of freshmen and transferees to the annual activity of the University.

University President Dr. Eva Marie Codamon-Dugyon represented by Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Mary P. Caclini underscored the importance of the activity.

“This seminar on Self-awareness and Values Formation is timely for young people like you. Through this seminar you can learn to be a better person and develop your full potential to become stewards of heritage, globally competent, creative, morally upright, socially responsible, and God-fearing individuals who can soar high as you go out to explore the world of work, “said Dr. Caclini.

Pastor Marvin P. Nanglegan of Christ is the Answer Church (CITAC) Ministry in Banaue motivated students to have purpose-driven lives and learn to nurture and grow in the unique gifts of God.

“Live your lives with purpose, a life without purpose will be driven by the wind. You need to grow more in knowing God. Grow in your connection with Him, continue to partner with Him, and do His will while you are a student,” he said.

In knowing themselves, continued Pastor Nanglegan, he encouraged students to make right decisions that are beneficial to their studies.

“If you want to survive and be successful, modify your lifestyle and habits, streamline things in your life that will benefit you not harm you and you must be willing to face the challenges and hardships ahead of you,” added Pastor Nanglegan.

On the other hand, Dr. Joyce A. Bodah, Director for Gender and Development, Research and Resource Center informed the students of IFSU’s Vision, Mission, Goals, Objectives, and Core Values namely Excellence, Faith, Integrity, Service, Creativity, and Cultural-Sensitivity. Meanwhile, Ms. Desiree A. Ballitoc, Director for DSSD conveyed the Student Code of Conduct, Offenses, and Sanctions.
