IFSU studes undergo Rope Access Training


To arm students with life-saving responses in times of unforeseen disasters and emergencies, Ifugao State University (IFSU) -Aguinaldo campus students received a Rope Access Training on October 24-27, 2022.

Initiated by the University Student Supreme Government through the Department of Student Services and Development, Aguinaldo campus in partnership with Municipal Risk Reduction and Management of Aguinaldo town conducted the training of the student participants.

Rope Access level 1 is a training using ropes as main gear and associated with equipment to gain access to hard-to-reach locations.

The said activity is a continuation training of students who earlier underwent the Basic Life Support Training.

During the 4-day training, student trainees received lectures and demonstrations from the Philippine National Police and Bureau of Fire Protection in Aguinaldo town.

Lectures on Rope Rescue Awareness; Rope Rescue Works; Basic Ropemanship Skills, and; Rope Rescue Anchoring were conveyed and construction of Anchor points; Simple Haul System; Lowering and Raising; Mechanical Advantage System, and; Lowering, Raising & Bipod were also demonstrated.
