Psychology dep’t prep students, alums as future psychometricians


To aid in achieving the mission of the University to produce employable graduates upholding excellence, the Department of Psychology of Ifugao State University (IFSU)-Lamut Campus conducted a Crash Course in Developmental Psychology to further enhance the learning experience of Psychology students specifically the 3rd and 4th-year and alumni on April 20 and 26, 2023 at the Heritage Convention Hall, Lamut, Ifugao.

The Crash Course in Developmental Psychology is a lecture type which shall transform the traditional textbook model by presenting information in a fast-paced format to address the learning gap among students and alumni.

In his Opening Remarks, Dr. Donato O. Abaya, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, said that through the crash course, students can gain more knowledge in Developmental Psychology, and learn and appreciate human life. It is also a way for students who have taken the course and are still taking it to refresh, review, relearn, and see the connections between all the concepts of Psychology.

Ms. Florence Nawew- Bahni, Psychology Faculty at Saint Mary’s University (SMU) centered her discussions on the study of human development throughout the lifespan in the areas of physical, social, cognitive, emotional and moral development along with some major theories of development.

As an offshoot of the endeavor, the participants were able demonstrate and understand more the process of human development that they can apply in their upcoming Board Licensure Examination for Psychometricians on June 2023.
