IFSU culminates Nat’l Literature Month ’23 with focus on unity and nation-building


Ifugao State University (IFSU) celebrated the culmination of National Literature Month (NLM) 2023 with the theme "Kultura ng Pagkakaisa: Pagsisiyasat ng Pagkakaisa sa pamamagitan ng Panitikan" at the Heritage Convention Hall, Lamut Campus.

Organized by the College of Education (COE), the event aimed to contribute in the national goal of promoting the Philippine literature and showcase its role in fostering unity and nation-building.

Dr. Desiree G. Nangpuhan, COE Dean, represented by Mr. Primo Wigan, a faculty member, expressed her delight and encouraged students to actively participate in the activities.

Mr. Joenel Bulan Lacaden, a teacher from the Philippine Science High School, highlighted the essence of the literature subject in his message. He emphasized that the subject not only balances the curriculum but also broadens students' personal, social, and cultural knowledge.

A number of contests were held as part of the culmination event, including Masining na Pagkukwento, Tagisan ng Talino, Bayani Lookalike, Slogan Making, Folk Dance, and the Search for Ginoo at Binibining Bughaw, which intended to revive and promote Philippine literary traditions.
