Dr. Eva Marie Codamon-Dugyon is the University President of Ifugao State University (IFSU), serving her second term. She is the first woman to hold the highest position in the institution's 102-year history.

Under Dr. Dugyon's leadership, innovation and the pursuit of the common good as strengthened by phronesis have been central to her duties. Her upbringing in a God-loving family has instilled in her a deep sense of inspiration and strength derived from her faith. Guided by the teachings of Christ, she envisions herself as a leader who positively impacts the lives of others.

Dr. Dugyon has been an achiever from her early student days. During her college years at the Lyceum of the Philippines, Intramuros, Manila, she excelled academically and was recognized as a Dean's Lister. She completed her Bachelor's degree in BS Journalism in a remarkable 3 and a half years. She likewise served as the Associate Editor of the "Lycean Magazine," the official student publication of the Lyceum of the Philippines University. She furthered her education through scholarships from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) during her graduate studies at St. Mary's University and Nueva Vizcaya University.

Continuing her pursuit of knowledge, Dr. Dugyon has actively participated in various seminars, training sessions, and conferences. Notably, she successfully completed the Philippine Higher Education Career System Training, an executive development program by the CHED and the Development Academy of the Philippines. This program is designed to enhance the professional advancement and career management of senior executives in State Universities and Colleges.

Dr. Dugyon's research outputs and publications encompass a range of topics, including the information network of tilapia farmers in Ifugao, the impact of community extension programs on Ifugao residents, and factors influencing sources of information among woodcarvers in Ifugao.

Her career journey began in a humble position, and through determination and hard work, she progressed steadily in the academic hierarchy. From her initial role as a clerk, she eventually became a Local Government Operations Officer at the Department of Interior Local Government-Cordillera Administrative Region after undergoing rigorous training at the Local Government Academy. In 2005, she returned to the field of academia and joined IFSU, quickly becoming the youngest member of the Administrative Council and assuming the role of Director of the Management Information System (MIS), later renamed as the Public Assistance and Information Services (PAIS). She furthered her academic career by qualifying for a teaching position and achieving the ranks of Assistant Professor II and Associate Professor I.

Dr. Dugyon's election as the President of IFSU holds historical significance and pride for the institution's alumni. She is the first alumna of the defunct ISCAF High School Laboratory to hold this esteemed position, reflecting the nurturing of academic and leadership excellence within the school. Her decision to return and serve her alma mater demonstrates her gratitude and attachment to her roots.

True to her commitments, Dr. Dugyon ensured that IFSU retained its ISO certification and became the first SUC in CAR to be awarded the Bronze award for achieving Level II in all areas of human resources development under the PRIME HR (Program to Institutionalize Meritocracy & Excellence in Human Resource Management). Furthermore, the university obtained a safety seal from the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), allowing for the early resumption of in-person classes while adhering to all necessary health protocols.

In 2023 and on the fith year of Dr. Dugyon’s presidency, IFSU achieved its vision of being a "globally-recognized university" by securing a place within the top 101-200 universities in the prestigious World University Ranking for Innovation (WURI). This accomplishment establishes IFSU as a leading institution fostering innovation in higher education. Additionally, the university excelled in the Fourth Industrial Revolution, ranking 10th in the country and 35th globally, while also achieving 8th place in Ethical Value nationally and 42nd place worldwide.

Dr. Dugyon is dedicated to advancing the achievements of previous administrations and introducing innovative and relevant programs for all stakeholders. She is particularly passionate about institutional branding, leveraging the rich cultural heritage of Ifugao, internationalization, and incorporating technology into the university's operations.

With Dr. Dugyon's leadership, supported by the commitment of all stakeholders, IFSU is poised to reach even greater heights.
