IFSU eyes ISA certification
In ardent desire of Ifugao State University (IFSU) to step forward and bring to a higher level the quality of programs and services, IFSU declared its intention to undergo quality assurance process of Institutional Sustainability Assessment (ISA) by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) this year during the two-day Orientation Workshop on ISA certification on March 5, 2020, at IFSU-Lamut campus.
“For 2020, our target is to subject our dear University to ISA which is a quality assurance process that assesses institutional sustainability of an HEI in the key areas of Governance and Management, Quality of Teaching and Learning, Quality of Professional Exposure, Research, and Creative work, and Support for students and Relations with the community,” said Dr. Eva Marie Codamon-Dugyon, University President.
Dr. Dugyon also added that the activity is one giant step that would bring direction to the University’s quest for a mature institution with a shared culture of quality and with learning service outcomes demonstrated at an exceptional level.
During the orientation, resource speaker Dr. Jimmy G. Catanes of CHED-Cordillera Administrative Region discussed the goals of ISA and its processes to University officials and employees.
Dr. Catanes said that CHED as a promoting agency of ISA will assess the institutional sustainability of higher education institution in the five key result areas namely, Governance and Management, Quality Teaching and Learning, Quality of Professional Exposure, Research and Creative Work, Support for Students and Relations with the Community.
“ISA will also look into the university’s system, the extent of implementation, outcomes of the system, and effectiveness of the system whether these systems lead to the attainment of the desired quality outcomes,” further remarked Dr. Catanes.//by: Liza B. Pugong
