IFSU stude receives grant from SN Aboitiz
Karl John J. Carabacan, an incoming freshman, was awarded a scholarship grant by the SN Aboitiz Power-Magat, Inc. under its Bridging Gaps in Higher Education through Tertiary Scholarships (BRIGHTS) Program on July 25.
BRIGHTS is a merit-equity scholarship for academic acheivers with limited financial means who hail from SNAP’s host communities. The scholarship grant provides financial assistance to the grantee. The student will receive Php. 50,000.00 per school year or Php. 25, 000.00 per semester and another Php 2,000.00 for graduation fees. In return, the grantee must maintain a general weighted average (GWA) of at least 85% with no grade below 80%.
To date, there are eight (8) BRIGHTS grantees enrolled in IFSU Potia Campus.
According to Ms. Jennifer Pervidal, Senior Supervisor of SN Aboitiz Power-Magat, Inc., the scholarship aims to help deserving students to pursue their education for them to have a bright future. Carabacan also expressed his gratitude for being chosen as one of the grantees of BRIGHTS.
Carabacan will pursue Bachelor in Secondary Education major in English.
