IFSU stude is Most Outstanding Delegate in AYIMUN 2019
Michah Dayag Salvador, a 4th-year accountancy student of IFSU Lagawe Campus, was awarded as the Most Outstanding Delegate in the just-concluded Asia Youth International Model United Nations 2019 (AYIMUN) held at the Putrajaya International Convention Center, Putrajaya, Malaysia on August 25-28, 2019.
Salvador, who is scheduled to fly back to the Philippines on the 29th of August, was one of the 98 delegates who were selected to participate in the conference from more than 35 thousand applicants all over the globe. In her application essay, she said that the AYIMUN experience would equip her with experience to face the real world and would enable her to gain different perspectives on global issues.
The AYIMUN is a platform where youth mentality in leadership, negotiation, and diplomacy will be developed in a Model United Nations. It aims to engage young world leaders in an assembly called Meeting Session where they can share their views and stand on identified issues. They play the role of diplomats representing the country they are assigned to. This year's theme is “Human Security Agenda in the Globalized World.”
Assigned to Denmark, Salvador was part of the ASEAN - European Union (EU) Council which tackled the issue of the Rohingya Crisis in Myanmar. She sponsored the draft resolution on the response to the dilemma.
In her native attire, Salvador received the highest award for an AYIMUN delegate for her performance and contribution.
