IFSU employee-athletes kick off ASCU-SN Summer Olympics with wins
The Ifugao State University contingent to the annual Association of State Colleges and Universities-Solid North Summer Olympics started with a good run after winning in basketball and volleyball.
IFSU volleyball women outscored Cagayan State University for their first win in the elimination round. In similar fashion, IFSU basketball men (44 and below category) showed steady nerves to win over Kalinga State University in the elimination round.
On the other hand, IFSU basketball men (45 and above category) is at 1-1 when they bowed down first to the University of Northern Philippines but bounced back mightily in their second game during the elimination round over Kalinga State University.
University President Eva Marie Codamon-Dugyon was also at the playing venues to cheer and show support to all the IFSU employee-athletes. She reminded all IFSU athletes to be ambassadors of goodwill, sportsmanship and camaraderie.
More games will be played today with 19 universities competing for the different games.#
