IFSU OJT's from Israel arrive in PH

Thirty-six (36) students of the agriculture program of Ifugao State University finished their eleven-month internship in Israel under the Granot AgroStudies Program and safely arrived in the Philippines in October 2020.

The interns are from the College of Agriculture and Home Science (CAHS) of IFSU Lamut Campus (29) and the College of Agriculture and Forestry (CAF) of IFSU Potia Campus seven (7).

Dickson M. Lupai, one of the interns, said that his experience in Israel is one of the best opportunities for he gained new knowledge from their advanced technologies in agricultural production.

“I am so thankful to the IFSU family and to those who were part of the program for giving us the opportunity to undergo our internship in Israel. On behalf of the on-the-job trainees, our deepest appreciation to the University President, coordinators, and to CHED for keeping us safe and sound until we reached our home despite the pandemic,” remarked Lupai.

The return of the students was made possible through IFSU’s coordination with concerned agencies and organizations like State University and Colleges - Association of Colleges of Agriculture in the Philippines (SUC-ACAP, Inc.); Commission on Higher Education (CHED); Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) through the Philippine Embassy in Israel; Local Government Units (LGUs); and IFSU’s provision of shuttle services to fetch them from Manila to Ifugao.

All of them were sent home and were able to complete their quarantine at their respective LGU community isolation centers. //by: Janine M. Dawong
