“Aspire to be sports heroes” – Boxing champ Martin

Philippine Boxing Federation Bantamweight Champion Carl James “Wonder Boy” Martin supported the Inter-Campus Sports Competition as a stepping stone for the IFSU athletes to be molded as sports heroes in the future on October 17, 2018.

The 19-year-old, a holder of WBC and WBA belts, praised and expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the administration of IFSU for doing such event that would strengthen the camaraderie among the
students.

“This event highlights the harmonious relation among the concerned stakeholders and expression of our strong support to preserve our indigenous sports, to produce new breeds of sport heroes rising from our very own institution,” said Martin.

“I believe that what we are doing is a strong foundation for sports heroes to rise. IFSU has open field for sports development, ” he added.

As a multi-awarded boxer and a pride of Ifugao, Martin shared the importance of discipline of a true athlete.

He said, “Discipline, perseverance and sportsmanship is a must to the young participants. Therefore, I congratulate every one of us here, in taking the challenge in the building of stronger hope for the youth.”

“Sooner or later, Ifugao will be known as a new breeder of sports heroes,” concluded Martin.#
