Excellence in public service

As we culminated the 118th Civil Service Anniversary in September, we are once again reminded on the importance of public of office as a public trust. Being paid by the hard earned taxes of the people, the Ifugao State University (IFSU), as a public and higher institution in the province, we continue to affirm our oath to provide quality service to the stakeholders.

No less than the 1987 Philippine Constitution stipulated under Article XI, Section 1 that a Public Office is a Public Trust. Public of officers and employees must at all times be accountable to the people, serve them with utmost responsibility, integrity, loyalty, and efficiency, act with patriotism and justice, and lead modest lives.

At IFSU, we recognize the need to improve and strengthen the role of stakeholders in the undertakings of the University. The University believes that a strong relationship with the stakeholders is a major step in improving the services of IFSU outside its walls.

Aside from aspiring to provide quality instruction, IFSU is vigorous in improving its relevance as a University to the communities through its extension and community services. IFSU offers its expertise for free on tissue culture, food processing, campus journalism, project proposals, eye care and more. IFSU is also an accreditation center for National Certificate II on Organic Farming and Bookkeeping. In the coming days, IFSU will expand its services to cater on the timely needs of our stakeholders.

IFSU is also in the forefront to improve its leadership in research. With its researches, IFSU hopes that these can be used as scientific bases for enriching development policies in terms of education, environment, agriculture and politics.

As a University, we are constantly challenged to improve our services for our people. Guided by the vision, mission and core values, IFSU envisions not only to be a globally recognized center of excellence amidst cultural heritage but also an institution that values and nurtures integrity, accountability and service.

University President, Dr. Eva Marie Codamon-Dugyon emphasized that for a University to raise the bar of public service, she wanted to adopt the virtues of a phronesis, principledriven, people centered strategic leadership under her administration.

Excellence in service is also way to influence, transform and touch other people’s lives.

Excellence in public service is a way of life. Let us make it as a culture.#
