Ifugao Satoyama Meister Trainees visit Ishikawa Natural Museum
At least 13 trainees of the Ifugao Satoyama Meister Training Program (ISMTP)-Phase II joined by Ifugao State University (IFSU) President, Dr. Eva Marie Codamon-Dugyon as head of the delegation, along with Dr. Nancy Ann Gonzales, Vice President for Research, Extension and Development and Ms. Eulalie Dulnuan, Director, IFSU IRT-GIAHS Research and Development Center, Onsite Project Manager, ISMTP-Phase II, two GIAHS mayors of Mayoyao, Hon. Ronnie Lumayna and Hungduan, Hon. Hilario Bumangabang visited the Natural Museum of the Ishikawa Prefecture, Kanazawa, Ishikawa, Japan on October 22, 2018.
Professor Koji Nakamura, Project Manager, Ifugao Satoyama Meister Training Program and Director of Ishikawa Museum of Natural History, provided an overview of the museum and a chance for the IFSU delegation to have a glimpse of the richness of the Ishikawa Prefecture in terms of biodiversity and resources.
ISMTP is a joint project by the Japan International Cooperation Agency Kanazawa University, Ifugao GIAHS Support Committee, IFSU, University of the Philippines-Open University and the Ifugao Provincial Government of Ifugao. The Project is now on its Phase 2 implementation.
