Building IFSU as a character institution
With the election of Dr. Eva Marie Codamon-Dugyon as the new Ifugao State University (IFSU) President, history unfolded. As the first woman and second university president, expectations are high. There are a lot of shoes to fill coming from a previous administration that speaks of great accomplishments.
Without a doubt, much has been accomplished during the leadership of Dr. Serafin L. Ngohayon. Under his watch, ISCAF rose from an old slumber and transformed into a lone university in the province as a source of honor and pride for Ifugaos and to all stakeholders.
Today, IFSU, learning from its humble beginning aspires for more to provide better higher education and strengthening its partnership and cooperation with stakeholders. But the road in achieving these goals requires collective and unified action from all of us. It is not a task to be done by a lone soldier.
With the new IFSU administration, we need to rally behind our university president as we have shown in the previous leaderships. This has been one of our strengths as an IFSU family and a good practice that we should continue and uphold. Dr. Dugyon highlighted in her previous messages on building a character institution with ethical, relational and success values as our foundations. We should embrace these values to be our way of life and in the performance of our duties and obligations. Truly, we need these values as constant reminders of our commitment to serve diverse stakeholders and partners.
Quoting from one of her fist speeches, Dr. Dugyon reiterated that, together, we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us and no challenge too difficult what we cannot overcome if we work hand in hand, side by side, and in synergy. With our strong commitment and interdependency with others, IFSU is in the right track for greater heights.
