IFSU student writers bag awards in Luzon-wide PressCon

Upland Farm writers Joseph Q. Dimmic, Jr. and Franie B. Bumilao were among the Top 10 in their individual categories in the recently concluded 17th Luzon-wide Higher Education Press Conference held at the Hotel Supreme, Magsaysay Avenue, Baguio City on February 28-March 02, 2018.

Joseph Q. Dimmic, Jr., Associate Editor-in-Chief, was Top 4 in Opinion/Column Writing (English Category).

Franie B. Bumilao, Features Editor, landed Top 6 in News Writing (Filipino Category).

Mr. Richard D. Baliao, IFSU Faculty and Upland Farm Adviser directed the IFSU campus writers in the duration of the 3-day press conference hinged on the theme “#NoFilter: Averting False Media through Ethical Journalism”.

Writers of the Upland Farm, Official Student Publication of IFSU, have consistently joined and have been bringing home the bacon in the recent years battling with the campus writers of Luzon universities and colleges, private and state owned.

Joseph Q. Dimmic, Jr., Associate Editor-in-Chief, receives his certificate as Top 4 in Opinion/Column Writing (English Category) accompanied by Upland Farm Adviser Richard D. Baliao.

This year’s event has an attendance of at least 1,000 campus journalists from the different higher education institutions of Region I – Ilocos, Region II-Cagayan Valley, Region III-Central Luzon, Region IVA-Calabarzon, Region IVB-MIMAROPA, Region V- Bicol, and Cordillera Administrative Region.
