Ifugao Satoyama Batch 3 in their Exposure Trip in Japan

File photos show the Batch 3 trainees of the Ifugao Satoyama Meister Training Program (ISMTP) in Japan back in September 18-26, 2016 headed by their team Leader and Speaker Mr. Anthony B. Cantes.

There were 16 trainees from the heritage towns Banaue, Hungduan, Kiangan and Mayoyao who composed the 3rd batch, the last group of graduates that ended the ISMTP – First Phase on January 31, 2017.

The trip was granted under the partnership project that aims to capacitate Ifugao locals in the heritage towns towards the conservation of the Ifugao Rice Terraces (IRT).

The collaborative undertaking which is now on its Phase II implementation, launched on June 28, 2017, is made between the Ifugao State University, Kanazawa University of Japan, University of the Philippines-Open University, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Provincial and Municipal Local Government Units of Ifugao. #
