Dr. Dinah Corazon M. Licyayo, Dean, College of Agriculture and Home Science and Dr. Eva Marie C. Dugyon, Director, Extension Service have qualified in Philippine Higher Education Career System (Phil-HECS) Executive Development Program (EDP) of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).
Alongside more than a hundred aspirants, Dr. Licyayo and Dr. Dugyon hurdled series of rigid assessments before their acceptance into the program which is plugged as one of the most desired by aspiring higher education leaders all over the country.
Both faculty whose application was approved by the Phil-HECS Technical Working group are enlisted to the Second Batch – Track II Career System of the program tailored for aspiring leaders.
Dr. Licyayo and Dr. Dugyon survived the first (Recruitment and Selection) of the three-component system and will now avail of the second component (Professional Advancement Program). Third component (Career Management) follows subsequently.
In her memo, CHED Chairperson Dr. Patricia B. Licuanan said the program which is “designed to engage SUC executives and enhance their competencies to prepare them for increased roles in the improvement of the public higher education sector in the country” begins on July 19, 2017.
The candidate’s participation to the Phil-HECS-EDP will be done on official time, thus, entitling the accepted candidates to their salary and benefits for the full duration of the program, Dr. Licuanan said.
Further she said that their participation “should not prejudice existing benefits, status/designation of the candidates provided that the pertinent rules and regulations of CHED, DBM and COA on designations, compensations and benefits such as RATA are adhered to.” #
