Update: Ifugao Satoyama Program
Ifugao Satoyama Meister Training Program (ISMTP): Trainee Febe Bummael of Hungduan discusses her Research output before Professor Koji Nakamura,ISMTP Project Leader and to the other ISMTP co-trainees.
The Research Presentations of the trainees formed part of the RP-Japan International Forum at the Luis Hora Gymnasium, IFSU Main,Nayon, Lamut, Ifugao in January 21, 2016.
Bummael belongs to the second batch of ISMTP trainees.
The ISMTP is a JICA funded special project designed after the Noto Satoyama Satoumi Meister training Project.
The Project aims to empower locals in the Globally Important Heritage Systems (GIAHS) Designated Site “Ifugao Rice Terraces” in the Philippines spearheaded by the Kanazawa University.
IFSU as one of the implementing agencies along with University of the Philippines and the Ifugao Provincial Government will strive thru the project to improve the quality of life of the Ifugao locals through a harmonize heritage conservation, environmental preservation and economic activities.
The program also facilitates visit to Japan by the trainees to gain further insights on the objectives of the program.
